COLONEL JEANINE M. MCANANEY

Colonel Jeanine McAnaney is the Vice Commander, 315th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. She assists in the overall direction of Wing operations for over 2,100 personnel. The wing is a classic associate flying C-17s with missions including strategic airlift, airdrop, contingency response and aeromedical evacuation.

Hailing from upstate New York, Colonel McAnaney commissioned in 1989 after graduating from the ROTC program at Rochester Institute of Technology. She flew C-21s at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, C-5s at Travis Air Force Base, California, and qualified as a Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE) Commander in the 715th Air Mobility Squadron before being released from active duty in 1999. Colonel McAnaney entered the Air Force Reserve at Travis Air Force Base flying the C-5.

She upgraded to flight examiner and Chief Pilot as well as initial cadre on the C-5 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) where she coordinated her unit’s transition to the new equipment. In 2010 Colonel McAnaney took command of the 70th Air Refueling Squadron flying KC-10 aircraft. She transitioned to the IMA program in 2013 and served alongside her active duty counterparts in the 615th Contingency Operations Support Group, and the 621st Contingency Response Wing where she qualified as both a Director of Mobility Forces and Joint Task Force, Port Opening Commander.
During the summer of 2016, Colonel McAnaney served 4th Air Force as A3/5. She's participated in joint exercises across the globe including ULCHI FOCUS GUARDIAN, KEEN EDGE, KEY RESOLVE, PACIFIC SENTRY and EAGLE FLAG. Colonel McAnaney has held command positions at the squadron, group and wing level. She mobilized to answer the nation’s call in 2003 for Operations ENDURING/IRAQI FREEDOM.
In her civilian career, Colonel McAnaney is a commercial airline pilot.
