315 MXS welcomes new commander during a change-of-command ceremony

Lt. Col. Jason L. Brooks assumed command of the 315th Maintenance Squadron from the relinquishing commander, Lt. Col. Taylor Adams, at the base theater here, Jan. 7th, 2023.

Col. Brett Newman, 315th Maintenance Group commander, officiated the ceremony and passed the unit guidon to Brooks.

Prior to taking command of the 315 MXS, Brooks served as the 315 MXS accessories flight commander and a maintenance operations officer at the 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, before serving two years as 315th Maintenance Operations Flight commander.

This squadron shares responsibility with the 437th Maintenance Squadron to maintain the C-17 Globemaster III. 315th MXS and 437th MXS members provide a majority of the total Air Mobility Command airdrop capability.

The 315th MXS continues to exceed DoD maintenance unit standards by providing mission capable aircraft and superbly trained technicians for the nation's global airlift obligations. The squadron focuses on safety, continually adapts to achieve maximum efficiency, promotes an atmosphere for continuous improvement and is consistently recognized as a world-class maintenance organization.
