560th Red Horse Returns Home From Deployment Hundreds welcome 560th RED HORSE Airmen home
During the warm evening hours of Nov. 3, hundreds of eager family members and friends anxiously awaited for the arrival of more than 90 Citizen Airmen returning from a long deployment in the Middle East. The Airmen, assigned to the 560th RED HORSE Squadron, here, deployed together.

To more efficiently prepare Airmen for deployment, the 315th Logistics Readiness Squadron tested a new approach to pre-deployment training at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., January 5-6, 2017. In order to more efficiently prepare Airmen slated for deployment in the coming months, Joint Base Charleston’s 315th Logistics Readiness Squadron tested a training program here during Unit Training Assembly, Jan. 5 and 6, 2017. The 315th is serving as a testbed for the new Expeditionary Readiness Program, or ERP, the goal of which is to reduce the time Airmen spend in pre-deployment training by more than 50 percent while still meeting requirements to provide fully-trained and deployment-ready Airmen.

Air Force officials announced the creation of a new streamlined Expeditionary Readiness Program governance construct that replaces the current tiered predeployment training model. The updated program is designed to ensure expeditionary readiness training is relevant, effective, timely, synchronized, standardized and integrated in order to provide combatant commanders with a standard presentation of forces to support specified mission requirements, while maximizing efficiency.

Air Force services recently added a new tool to encourage service members and their families who are affected by deployments to participate in morale, welfare, and recreation programs and activities. The “Recharge for Resiliency” (R4R) initiative was designed to help Airmen readjust to life at home and also include families in their reintegration.
