Lt. Col. Joseph Swaim assumed command of the 560th Red Horse Squadron here during a ceremony held at the Joint Base Charleston theater, Saturday. The ceremony was presided over by Col. Franklin Myers, 622nd Civil Engineering Group, Commander. Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers (RED HORSE) units are the United States Air Force's equivalent of the U.S. Navy Seabees and these specialized units provide the U.S. Air Force with a highly mobile civil engineering response force to support contingency and special operations worldwide.
