Sam, a service dog with Canines for Veterans, poses for a picture April 20, 2013 while working with 1st Lt. Shawna Rogers, 315th Airlift Wing intelligence officer, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Service dogs help wounded veterans who have mobility and/or post-traumatic stress disorders. Sam is currently in training, and she will eventually be placed with a wounded veteran.
