Following the two-year capstone inspection event held during the May UTA, the Air Force Reserve Command’s Inspector General provided the 315th Airlift Wing with an overall inspection rating of “effective”.

The 315 AW’s inspection cycle of April 13, 2016 to May 22, 2018 culminated with a visit by AFRC inspectors as they closed out the IG’s findings. “I am extremely proud of our wing,” said Col. Greg Gilmour, commander of the 315th Airlift Wing. “The IG just confirmed what our wing leadership already knew, we know our job and we execute our nation’s mission well.”

All four major graded areas of managing resources, leading people, improving the unit and executing the mission received an overall rating of effective and the IG assessed the commander’s inspection program, strategic alignment and primary mission as “highly effective.”

Col. Gilmour said, he would like to “thank everyone in the 315th for all of their hard work over the past two years in making sure the wing not only met standards but surpassed them.” He also said he “looked forward to recognizing superior performers during the wing’s next commander’s call in June.”
