Members of the 38th and 81st Aerial Port Squadrons prepare to board a commercial aircraft for their deployment to Afghanistan Sept 14. The 18 Airmen will join 55 other reservists from Charleston who are already in the AOR. While deployed, they will be responsible for aerial port operations at ports of embarkation and debarkation, including cargo and passenger processing, aircraft loading and unloading, joint inspection, load-team supervision and air terminal operations.
