Colonel ALAN J. PARTRIDGE

Colonel Alan J. Partridge serves as the Deputy Commander, 315th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, S.C.  He assists the Commander leading over 2,500 Reserve personnel who augment the Active Component Strategic Airlift, Airdrop, and Aeromedical Evacuation forces in both peacetime and contingency operations.  Colonel Partridge ensures the readiness of the wing for missions that support worldwide combat operations and humanitarian relief efforts as directed by the Department of Defense. 

Colonel Partridge was commissioned in 2001, graduating from the United States Air Force Academy and earning a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering.  He attended Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas and started his operational flying career in the C-17A Globemaster III.  He went on to earn a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is a distinguished graduate of the University of Michigan’s Executive Master of Business Administration program at the Ross School of Business. 

Colonel Partridge is a Joint Qualified Officer, an Air Force Weapons Officer, and he has served as a C-17 instructor pilot, a Special Operations (SOLLII) evaluator pilot, the Aide-de-Camp to the Commander of Pacific Air Forces, a Joint Staff Officer at United States Transportation Command, a C-17 Squadron Commander, an Operations Group Commander, and a Numbered Air Force senior evaluator pilot as the chief of standardization and evaluation.  He has deployed to Europe, three times to Southwest Asia, and served over four years in the Indo-Pacific theater.  In his previous assignment, Colonel Partridge served as the Fourth Air Force Director of Air, Space and Information Operations and Strategic Plans and Programming at March Air Reserve Base, California.
