Safety

The mission of the 315th Airlift Wing Safety Office is to protect resources and preserve operational capability by promoting mishap prevention and risk management through education, inspection, enforcement, investigation and analysis. We endeavor to make Joint Base Charleston a safe, healthful place and to keep our flying operations mishap-free.

We are able to accomplish these goals through the combined efforts of our three specialties; Ground Safety, Flight Safety and Weapons Safety. Each provides assistance to commanders, program oversight and expertise which enable the protection of our most valuable asset, our people, from preventable accidents and injuries.

Our areas of responsibility extend into all aspects of base operations while fostering partnerships with many wing agencies. This wide spectrum approach and cooperative effort bolsters our ability to monitor base facilities and operations as part of a continuous quality-improvement program.

It is our goal, our mission, our hope that all personnel be able to minimize
risk by defending our nation responsibly and safely.
