History comes full circle for black aviators
Capt. Terry Troutman talks with 81-year-old Charles Lane, an original Tuskegee Airman, as they sit in the flight deck of a C-17 Globemaster III prior to an orientation flight on Aug. 5. The original Tuskegee Airmen were given the orientation flight by an all black aircrew as part of the 2006 Tuskegee Airman Convention in Phoenix. Captain Troutman is a reservist assigned to the 701st Airlift Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Wayne Capps)
