RED Horse units team up for stateside construction project
Senior Airman Natalie Guzman, 560th RED HORSE Squadron at Joing Base Charleston, South Carolina, uses a float to smooth a concrete foundation during a construction project at Joint Base Charleston. Members of the 560th RHS, 628th Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, 556th RHS, 555th RHS from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, and 567th RHS from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina joined forces June, July and August at Joint Base Charleston to build a 4,800 square-foot preengineered building building to store 560th RHS construction equipment and gear. Rapid Engineer Deployable, Heavy Operational Repair Squadron, Engineer (RED HORSE) squadrons provide the Air Force with a highly mobile civil engineering capability in support of contingency and special operations worldwide. They are self-sufficient, mobile squadrons that provide heavy construction support such as runway/facility construction, electrical upgrades, and equipment transport when requirements exceed normal base civil engineer capabilities and where Army engineer support is not readily available.
