New commander takes helm at 315 OSS

Lt. Col. Mike Parker assumed command of the 315th Operations Support Squadron in a packed Yonkie Auditorium, here, March 2, 2019.

Col. Stephen Lanier, 315th Operations Group commander, officiated the ceremony and passed the unit guideon to Parker.

Prior to taking command of the 315 OSS, Parker served as deputy chief pilot for the 701`st Airlift Squadron.

This squadron provides operational support to sustain combat readiness of three C-17A flying squadrons, one aero medical evacuation squadron and one contingency response flight for the global transport of troops and war fighting materiel. Comprised of a Wing Operations Center, and offices of current operations, weapons and tactics, aircrew training, life support, operations plans and computer support, the squadron provides the analytical infrastructure that sustains operations and training for the 315th Operations Group and 315th Airlift Wing.

Lt. Col. Ronnie Schier, now the 701 AS commander previously served as 315 OSS commander.
