Thirty-seven Airmen from the 81st Aerial Port Squadron here returned to Charleston Oct. 6 after a six-month deployment to locations in Southwest Asia.

The Air Force Reserve aerial port members deployed in March and were responsible for cargo and passenger operations at their deployed locations.

While deployed, the Reserve Airmen loaded and unloaded cargo and managed troop movements in and out of the surrounding countries. The Airmen are part of more than 60 deployed Charleston reservists who are scheduled to return home soon.

Arriving home, the Airmen were welcomed by family, friends and military members from the 315th Airlift Wing here.
