315 AW honors newest NCO and Senior NCOs

The 315th Airlift Wing held an induction ceremony for the wing's newest NCO and Senior NCOs here June 23.

The ceremony was presided over by Col. Terry Lawrence, 315th AW Operations Group commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Gigi Manning, 315 AW command chief master sergeant, who recognized the Airmen's personal and professional milestones in their Air Force Reserve careers.

Promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant was Allancia Sorhaindo, 315 AW Financial Management.

Sergeant Sorhaindo was also the recipient of the Paul H. Lankford leadership award during Airman Leadership School April 12, 2012. The leadership award is presented to the student who made the most significant contribution to the overall success of the class by demonstrating superior leadership abilities and excellent skills as a team member.

Promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant were Karla Rust and Glenn Walker from the 315 AW Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Victor McKinnon from the 315 AW Maintenance Squadron, and Christopher Small from the 315 AW Logistics Readiness Squadron.

Each newly promoted Airman received a coin from Chief Manning and a framed certificate of induction marking the event.

During the ceremony Col. Lawrence addressed the new NCO and Senior NCOs and encouraged them to continually work toward personal and professional development, mentor others and develop new skills, and be an example for other Airmen.
