50th CFC anniversary a success Published Nov. 15, 2011 By 315th Public Affairs JOINT BASE CHARLESTON -- The 315th Airlift Wing's Combined Federal Campaign contribution season ended November 12 with more than $11,600 collected, surpassing the wing goal of $10,000. "Total contributions were an increase of more than 40% over last year's total collected," Senior Master Sergeant Brad Levander, 81st Aerial Port Squadron Superintendent and 315 AW CFC Program Coordinator said."I'd like to thank everyone for their support, contributions and leadership in making the CFC's 50th Anniversary such a success. Established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, the CFC has raised nearly $7 billion to help combat disease, feed the hungry and help individuals and communities at home and around the world. President Kennedy began the CFC to coordinate the fundraising efforts of charitable organizations so Federal employees would be solicited only once a year and could contribute through payroll deductions.
