State AFA recognizes 315th AMXS maintainer with annual award Published May 25, 2011 By 315th Maintenance Group JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Tech. Sgt. Tanya Kent, 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was recently named 2011 South Carolina Air Force Association Outstanding Aircraft Technician of the Year at a local awards ceremony. During this past year, Sergeant Kent has excelled as a young leader in the AMXS. Her in-depth technical knowledge greatly contributed to Charleston's ability to launch a record-breaking C-17 multi-ship formation, and achieve a 100% on-time take-off rate for all 16 participating aircraft. Her expertise also proved invaluable while serving as one of our hand-picked C-17 Flying Crew Chiefs, where she was the only assigned maintenance technician on numerous worldwide missions. During these flights, Sergeant Kent was often called upon to repair mission critical items with only the absolute minimum of time and very limited tools and equipment. Due directly to her duty performance, she earned an incredible 100% reliability rate during all assigned FCC missions supporting South American and Pacific Counter Drug Operations.
