Two day education fair held at the air base

Joint Base Charleston kicked off a two-day education fair at the Education and Training Center on the air base Friday with more than 27 colleges and universities in attendance.

This is the first Joint Base Charleston Education Fair and was open to all military, family members, and retirees.

"This education fair is a great way for local and national colleges and universities to reach the men and women of Joint Base Charleston." said Linda Sturgeon, Chief Education Element, Joint Base Charleston. "Whether you are interested in an undergraduate or graduate degree, this is a great start to further your education."

Some of the colleges and university represented were the Citadel, University of South Carolina, Southern Illinois University and American Military University.

Command Chief Master Sergeant Jose LugoSantiago, 628h Air Base Wing Command Chief, was also in attendance handing out door prizes from each of the schools to lucky fairgoers. Prizes varied from tote bags to golf equipment.

The second day of the education fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p. m. Saturday at the Education and Training Center.
