Country-rock singer Kid Rock visited a small group of 315th Airlift Wing members to thank them for their service Wednesday a few hours before his concert at the North Charleston Coliseum.

"I think this is the least we can do, especially for people like me who enjoy every freedom available to me in the good old USA," said Kid Rock. "I feel very strongly about freedom and the people who protect it and serve for it and do it so unselfishly. It's literally the least I could do."

Kid Rock's visit is part of his partnership with the Air Force Reserve's Get One Now recruiting program according to Master Sgt. Michael Johnson, an events manager and recruiter with Air Force Reserve Command.

"It's always great to see celebrities like Kid Rock actively supporting our service members and we appreciate his support here in Charleston," said Col. Steven Chapman, 315th Airlift Wing commander.

"Kid Rock has worked tirelessly for our command this year--we really appreciate his support in our recruiting efforts!" said Senior Master Sgt. Valerie James, senior recruiter for the 315th.

A public supporter of the military for more than a decade, the Kid Rock has also toured with the USO over the past few years. Besides stateside concerts at military bases, he has visited and performed for troops overseas in Europe, and Southwest Asia.

Photos of people who where photographed with Kid Rock when he visited Joint Base Charleston will be uploaded sometime this week at www.afreservepic.com.
