An increase in the Masters Degree Tuition Assistance Rate was recently enacted making it much easier for Air Force Reservists to pursue a graduate level degree. The AFRC Masters Degree Tuition Assistance Rate was raised from 75 to 100 percent.

Effective as of October 10, 2008, the tuition assistance rate for AFRC funded Master's Degree programs is 100 percent with the following caps:

· $250.00 per semester hour
· $166.66 per quarter hour

The fiscal year cap, per member, remains at $4,500.00.

Unfortunately, the new tuition assistance rate is not retroactive, but the program will provide a significant help to Reservists using the program in the future.

If you have any questions regarding the program you can contact Master Sergeant W. Clayton Miller at DSN 497-0384, or contact your local Education and Training Office.
