The 315th Airlift Wing's mission video, Reaching Across the Globe, was recently nominated for an EMMY Award by the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Maj. Bill Walsh, Public Affairs Officer with the 315th AW at Charleston AFB, S.C., was nominated for Television Crafts Achievement Excellence for best writer for a Public Service Announcement, Promo or Commercial.

The 4-minute video aired as a public service announcement on several local television outlets showcasing the mission of the 315th Airlift Wing. "We wanted to produce a public service piece that showcased one of the best wing's in the Air Force Reserve and I'm thrilled the National Academy nominated it for an Emmy," said Maj. Walsh.

Maj. Walsh is no stranger to the EMMY Awards program. In his civilian career as the chief meteorologist for WCSC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Charleston, S.C., he has won 2 previous EMMY Awards and this is his fourth nomination.

Maj Walsh will attend the EMMY Awards gala in Atlanta, Ga. on Jun. 23 where the award winners will be announced.

"This is super news and reflects the hard work of our entire public affairs office," said Walsh when reflecting on his nomination for the prestigious award.
