The following people were awarded the wing's historical coin during the months of November and December.

Master Sgt. Terry Grant, 315th OSS, was awarded coin number 0039 for being one of the lead planners for the historic Tuskegee Airman Flight. He helped plan the trip that allowed an all African American crew to fly 11 original Tuskegee Airmen. It was a large media event covered by every news outlet in Charleston, as well as CNN, Ebony Magazine, FOX News and other national outlets. He was also the speaker at the send-off ceremony.

Staff Sgt Jason Johnston, 315th AMXS, was awarded coin number 0042 for volunteering his time to support numerous wing events by singing the National Anthem at repeated change of command/retirement ceremonies, The Air Force Ball, and at Charleston River Dog games. His talent is also featured on the 315th Airlift Wing Commanders Call DVD.

President George W. Bush, 43rd president of the United States, was awarded coin number 0043, on his visit to Charleston Air Force Basse on October 28, 2006. A quote from President Bush is featured on the historical coin that says, "Freedom will be defended." President Bush praised the men and women of Charleston AFB for their continued effort in fighting the Global War on Terrorism.
