ROA honors 315th Airlift Wing members at luncheon

Members of the 315th Airlift Wing here attended the Department of South Carolina Reserve Officers Association awards luncheon yesterday at the base club here.

The ROA awards luncheon recognized the accomplishments of various South Carolina reserve organizations and ROA members.

The Outstanding U.S. Air Force Reserve Unit of the Year award was presented to the 315th Security Forces Squadron.

Accepting the award on behalf of the unit was Master Sgt. Jerry Henning, a security manager with the SFS.

Henning also accepted the President's Citation award on behalf of Maj. Shawn Swarz, the 315th SFS commander.

Swarz was given the award for his significant contributions to national security and the objectives of the ROA, his award citation reads.

Capt. Leanne Babcock, a logistics readiness officer with the 38th Aerial Port Squadron here, was the recipient of the company grade officer of the year award.

Tech. Sgt. Jarrod Mills, an explosive ordinance disposal journeyman with the 315th SFS, was the recipient of the non commissioned officer of the year award.

The Palmetto Patriot award recipients in attendance were Lt. Col. Bobby DeGregorio and Senior Master Sgt. Bryan Dubois.
