Wing Top Three offering scholarships

The 315th Airlift Wing Top Three Association is offering two $2,500 scholarships for eligible, enlisted Reservists at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.

The association’s scholarship, named after former wing member Senior Master Sgt. George Counts, is a memorial scholarship set up to assist enlisted members in completing a college degree and to further recognize the achievements of those individuals pursuing continuing education.

CRITERIA:  To be considered, all applicants must:

  1. Be in the grade of E-1 through E-9
  2. The member must write an essay with a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words.  This essay should clearly define the member’s degree path and most importantly how this scholarship will help benefit the member’s military career goals.  This essay should be in APA format with 12 pt. Times New Roman, one inch page margins, double line spacing and 1/2” indention for every new paragraph. 
  3. Show current proof of registration at any accredited college (Note:  Registration must be for the semester in which the grant will apply.)
  4. Be recommended by a squadron 1st sergeant or commander (Squadron leadership is highly encouraged to write a paragraph why member is being nominated)
  5. Submit this application along with its attachments to 315 AW Top Three Association (ATTN: SMSgt Joshua Fugle (Joshua.Fugle@us.af.mil)).

RESTRICTIONS/CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Applicants must apply for this year’s scholarship by COB, Saturday of July Unit Training Assembly (July, 10 2021).
  2. Incomplete packages will not be considered and renders the applicant ineligible for the grant.
  3. Failure to follow instructions listed above will render the applicant ineligible for the grant.
  4. Winners will be notified when and where they will be presented their grant.
