Members of the 315th Airlift Wing and family and friends of former 315th AW Commander, Major General Robert B. Stephens, gathered together on Apr. 16 at the Joint Base Charleston Air Base for a memorial service honoring him. In September 1988, he was selected as the vice commander, then became commander of the 315th AW until 1991. General Stephens is survived by his wife and partner of 50 years, Cathleen Prothro Hill Stephens, daughter, Mary Ella Stephens, son, Robert B.
