Seventeen firefighters assigned to 315th Civil Engineering Flight donned their aircraft rescue suits for mandatory daytime live fire training Saturday, April 10 at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Sweeping through the ‘burn building’ in teams of four, the firefighters were required to extinguish a simulated kitchen fire burning up to 700 degrees before backing out of the structure. Each run-through also allowed the firefighters additional training on the fire rescue truck by repacking the hose and returning the truck to a ‘serviceable’ condition.
