Humanitarium

A C-17 Aircrew from the 315th Airlift Wing, Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., moved more than 29,000 pounds of humanitarian cargo this weekend. This cargo was approved under the Denton Program, the Denton Program allows for non-profit organization to transport qualified humanitarian cargo on a space available basis. The Ave Maria University from Ave Maria, Florida donated a 2003 Dodge Pick-up truck to the Ave Maria University Latin American Campus in San Marcos, Nicaragua. This donation will allow staffers from the university to go into Managua from San Marcos daily for necessary school supplies in support of the university. In addition, a fire truck and other firefighting gear was donated to the volunteer firefighters of Condega, Nicaragua who has limited resources. These volunteer firefighters serve approximately 30,000 people in a mountainous region just outside of Managua.
