AMXS Open Ranks Inspection 2014
Senior Master Sgt. Tom Davis, 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron section chief, performs a uniform inspection during an open ranks inspection May 4, 2014 at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Open ranks inspections are conducted periodically in order to ensure Airmen maintain professional dress and appearance standards. These U.S. military inspections date back to the late 1700s, during the time of General George Washington, when drill regulations were introduced to citizen soldiers of revolutionary forces.
