SPMAGTF-SC, JTF-Bravo disaster relief in Haiti enabled by logistics, ‘Rapid Global Mobility’

At the request of U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Transportation Command directed C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft to Soto Cano AB to move critical supplies and personnel to Haiti needed to sustain helicopter flight operations being conducted by Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Southern Command and Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment using two CH-53E Super Stallions, three CH-47 Chinooks, and two UH-60L and two HH-60L Black Hawks in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development-led mission to alleviate human suffering and bolster Haitian disaster response capabilities.
