Air Force Chief Of Staff and Senior Enlisted Advisor visit Joint Base Charleston
Col. Clinton ZumBrunnen, 437th Airlift Wing commander, right, and Chief Master Sgt. Ronnie Phillips, 437 AW command chief master sergeant, left, discuss the Transport Isolation System at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., April 30, 2020. Zumbrunnen and Phillips were part of a tour given to Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. David Goldfein, and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright, who visited JB Charleston to observe current aeromedical evacuation TIS operations and Palmetto Spark, JB Charleston’s innovation cell. The TIS is a system designed to safely transport infectious patients by aircraft and is being used as part of the Department of Defense’s COVID-19 response. Palmetto Spark allows Airmen to get help with coming up with innovative ideas for their squadron and has been making protective gear for non-medical personnel and hand sanitizer for units across JB Charleston.
