Two members of the Air Force Reserve's 315th Airlift Wing were presented the Distinguished Flying Cross during a ceremony held at Joint Base Charleston, November 5, 2023. Master Sgt. Josh Lewis and Master Sgt. Adam Stewart, Flying Crew Chiefs with the 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their efforts as part of Operation Allies Refuge in 2021, during which they helped firsthand to evacuate hundreds of civilians via air from Kabul, Afghanistan, to include a baby born while in flight.
