Parachute Rigger
An Army parachute rigger assigned to the 421st Quartermaster Company, Detachment 1, prepares a parachute within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Oct. 14, 2024. The rigging process involves hand-crafting a parachute that is deliberately made according to the weight and size of the bundle, as a minor mistake in the multiple hour-long rigging process can lead to airdrop failure.
