A C-130J Super Hercules from the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 165th Airlift Squadron lands at Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah, Ky., May 13, 2025. The 165th delivered Airmen and equipment to establish an aerial port and serve as a cargo hub and evacuation center during exercise Grindstone, a major earthquake-response simulation. Located in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, the most active seismic region in the Eastern U.S., Paducah prepares Airmen to support a real-world disaster response throughout the region.
