  • Charleston Reservists win 5 annual AFRC awards

    Five Citizen Airmen with the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, here, won fiscal year 2018 Air Force Reserve Command Aeromedical Evacuation Awards, according to a recent AFRC announcement.
  • Reservists Participate in Patient Evacuation Exercise

    Members of the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron participated in a National Disaster Medical System exercise May 7, 2019 at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, South Carolina. The exercise replicated a real life scenario in which critically injured patients were airlifted from Charleston, S.C. to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport after a national disaster. Over 200 participants took part in the large-scale exercise.
  • 315th CRF tests mettle in joint-service training mission Patriot Palm

    A 315th Airlift Wing unit finished its most recent joint-service training exercise Tuesday at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Hawaii. Teaming up with FEMA, the FBI, Army, Coast Guard and Marine Corps, the 315th Contingency Response Flight completed Exercise Patriot Palm, a joint-service emergency and natural disaster response exercise, coordinated by the Air Force Reserve, designed to integrate first responders from federal, state and local agencies, and the military by providing rapid response training.

  • Reservists credit teamwork in lifesaving mission

    As if by fate, a weather delay in Germany allowed a group of reservists to embark on a challenging 22-and-a-half-hour mission to help save a fellow service member. On Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, a C-17 aircrew from the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston, who’s mission heading home from Germany was delayed due to severe weather, was asked to take on an emergency mission transporting a burn patient to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas.

    This morning six Citizen Airmen from the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, with more to follow, departed Charleston for Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas to be part of a major combined operation to assist victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana.
