    Reserve Citizen Airmen with the 315th Airlift Wing, along with their active duty counterparts assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing and 628th Air Base Wing from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, participated in the Palmetto Challenge, May 21-23 at Pope Army Air Field Field, North Carolina.
  • 315 AW Reservists Aid Army Exercise

    The 315th Airlift Wing from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, provided the first ever C-17 Globemaster III support to Wright Army Airfield for an Army Expeditionary Deployment Readiness Exercise May 14 at Fort Stewart, Georgia. The 300th Airlift Squadron from JB Charleston, provided aerial support to the 414th Signal Company’s Tactical Communication Squadron from Fort Stewart. The EDRE helps to prepare military members to tactfully and efficiently deploy within hours.
  • Single-Parent Reservist Rises Above Challenges to Earn Wings

    Imagine being a single-parent of two, completing a bachelor's degree and independently financing pilot training in order to accomplish the dream of becoming a reserve pilot with the 315th Airlift Wing, all within 5 short years. Being a single parent is no easy feat, but Staff Sgt. Shakeyna Smith, aviation resource management technician with the 701st Airlift Squadron here, accepted the challenges that greeted her. From parenting her two small children as a teenage mother to pursuing higher education in psychology and aviation, Smith has embodied excellence in all she does.
  • 315th AW welcomes new leadership to ranks

    The 315th Airlift Wing welcomed two new commanders to the echelon here over the weekend. During a change of command ceremony, Lt. Col. Taylor Adams took command of the 315th Maintenance Squadron here with Maj. Kimberly Champagne assuming command of the 315th Force Support Squadron here in a separate assumption of command ceremony.
