Reservists from Joint Base Charleston made a special Christmas delivery to Veteran residents at the Charleston VA’s Patriot Harbor Community Living Center Dec. 14.“In light of the Christmas season we wanted to do something special for our local disabled Veterans that live at the Ralph H Johnson VAMC,” said Barbara Sosebee, 315th unit training manager. Sosebee requested a donation wish list from Cindy Ingels a recreation therapist at the Veterans hospital. Ingels provided Sosebee with a list of 19 inpatient residents of the VA’s Patriot Harbor CLC along with items they desired.The donations were impressive - 315th AW Reservists donated everything on the Veterans' wish list plus more. Soldiers of the 414th Chemical Brigade load an Air Force Reserve Boeing C-17 Globe master III of the 315th Air Wing in Charleston, S.C., for transport to Fort McCoy, Wis., Aug. 15, 2015, in support of Operation Red Dragon. More than 130,000 pounds of humanitarian aid was airlifted to relief organizations in Central American and Caribbean nations by the 315th Airlift Wing, Feb. 5, during a training mission that carried cargo as part of the Denton humanitarian program. The cargo, which mainly consisted of food, was donated by outreach groups and humanitarian organizations within the United States. It will provide an estimated 5.4 million meals to nearly 285,000 people - primarily children – in Nicaragua and Haiti.
