JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. --

Lt. Col. Terrell Eikner assumed command of the 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at the base theater here, April 14th, 2019.

Col. Thomas Walter, 315th Maintenance Group commander, officiated the ceremony and passed the unit guideon to Eikner.

Prior to taking command of the 315 AMXS, Eikner served as the commander of the 919th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Duke Field, Fla.

This squadron shares responsibility with the 437 AMXS to maintain the C-17A Globemaster III. 315th AMXs and 437 AMXS members provide a majority of the total Air Mobility Command airdrop capability. As the largest squadron in the Air Force Reserve Command, the 315 AMXS continues to exceed DoD maintenance unit standards by providing mission capable aircraft and superbly trained technicians for the nation's global airlift obligations. The squadron always focuses on safety, continually adapts to achieve maximum efficiency, promotes an atmosphere for continuous improvement and is consistently recognized as a world-class maintenance organization.

Retiring Lt. Col. Jeffrey Milligan previously served as 315 AMXS commander.
