Air Force proves mettle at first inter-service Alpha Warrior battle

A team of six Air Force men and women bested the Army and Navy to capture the first-ever Inter-Service Alpha Warrior Final Battle held at Retama Park on the outskirts of San Antonio Nov. 17.

315th wins Aircrew Excellence Award

The skillful response and handling of an in-flight crisis by a 315th Airlift Wing crew leads to a national level award. On Aug. 17, 2018, an all Reserve Charleston-based C-17 crew, carrying medical evacuation patients, experienced a cabin pressure malfunction then, successfully completed their mission, despite poor weather conditions and emergency oxygen system malfunctions, earning the 2018 4th Air Force Aircrew Excellence Award.

315 AW wins big at AFRC comm excellence awards

The 315th Airlift Wing won big Air Force Reserve Command’s 2018 Public Affairs Awards for Communication Excellence, according to a Nov. 2 announcement from AFRC leadership. Of the 10 categories, 315 AW Public Affairs took four, and 4th Combat Camera took two.

Nominations being accepted for 2018 Air Force Reserve Citizen Airman and Employer of the Year Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 Air Force Reserve Citizen Airman and Employer of the Year award. The award recognizes an enlisted and officer member who deployed during 2017 and their civilian employer who demonstrated strong support of them. Winners will be formally recognized during an awards ceremony at the Air Force Association Air and Space Conference and Technology Exposition in September. Award packages are by June 4.
