    Airmen and Sailors cheered each other on during the Alpha Warrior Air Force Fitness Tour Level 1 Battle Rig Instructor Course Aug. 1, 2018, at the Fitness Center at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The Alpha Warrior Air Force Fitness Tour brings professional coaches to bases that are equipped with Alpha Warrior Battle Rigs to certify Physical Training Leaders in the proper use and programming offered by the Alpha Warrior Fitness Program.
  • Hornets supportive of Charleston Reservist's deployment

    When Charleston Reservist Staff Sgt. Della Creech was given the opportunity to work as an HR co-op for the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets she was thrilled. But midway through her co-op, the then special handling joint inspector with the 81st Aerial Port Squadron, here, was tasked with a Middle East deployment as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Despite her fears, Creech received the full support of her Hornets’ supervisors and coworkers—especially James Jordan, Jr., the team’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
  • Charleston students attend Tuskegee Airmen Career Day

    More than 100 students from 13 local schools attended the annual Tuskegee Airman Career Day, Feb. 27, 2018, hosted by the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Helping those in need -- Reservists continue to deliver aid to Haiti

    Reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston delivered nearly 100,000 pounds of humanitarian aid to Haiti this weekend. The missions involved two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft delivering donated supplies and a well-drilling truck to the people of Haiti.
  • Government open again!

    Government is reopened. Joint Base Charleston and the 315th Airlift Wing returned to normal base operations today. The president has signed a continuing resolution extension through Feb.8, 2018. The office of personnel management directed federal employees to return to work Tuesday, Jan. 23.
  • Helping Haiti’s Children: 315th Delivers Buses to Haitian School Org

    A two-pronged mission over a weekend in December not only helped to keep 315th Airlift Wing aircrews current on all their certifications, but also delivered three badly-needed buses to schools in Haiti. Citizen Airmen of Joint Base Charleston’s 317th Airlift Squadron, with support from three additional Citizen Airmen of the 514th Air Mobility Wing from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, transported the school buses in a C-17 aircraft from Charleston to Port-au-Prince, where they were offloaded at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, December 16, 2017.
  • Hundreds welcome 560th RED HORSE Airmen home

    During the warm evening hours of Nov. 3, hundreds of eager family members and friends anxiously awaited for the arrival of more than 90 Citizen Airmen returning from a long deployment in the Middle East. The Airmen, assigned to the 560th RED HORSE Squadron, here, deployed together.
  • 437 AW crew provides Maria relief within hours

    Members of the 14th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency completed a humanitarian mission in support of Hurricane Maria to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Sept. 23.
