    Charleston Reservist earns spot at World triathlon championships

    Maj. Jamie Turner’s passion is flying jets, both in as a Reservist in the 317th Airlift Squadron flying C-17 Globemaster IIs, and as a FedEx pilot as a civilian. But there is something else she is equally passionate about –competing in triathlons. Turner was among the six athletes selected to represent the United States at the 19th Annual CISM World Military Championship August 2017 in Warendorf, Germany. The competition, sponsored by the Conseil International du Sports Militaire, is held every four years, in the spirit of the Olympics.

    Carolina skies turn grey during large formation exercise

    Aircrews from the 315th and 437th Airlift Wings took off the morning of May 25 From Joint Base Charleston in 18 C-17 Globemaster IIIs within seconds of each other as part of a large formation exercise over Carolina skies. Exercise Bonny Jack was a joint service exercise with about 1,600 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

    Mini C-17 team looking for a few good Citizen Airmen

    The 315th Airlift Wing Mini C-17 team at Joint Base Charleston is looking to add new members to its team to support one of the Air Force’s most popular community relations programs.
  • The 315th Airlift Wing mobile app just received a major upgrade to increase compatibility and features. The app contains mostly in app features instead of it previously pointed to external web-based content.     Wing app becomes more useful, compatible

    315th Airlift Wing Public Affairs recently performed an overhaul of its mobile app to make it more compatible with mobile devices and offer more useful features. The now nearly two-year-old app currently offers tools that are built into the application instead of pointing users to web-based products such as the wing’s web news feed, or online biographies – something that originally presented inconvenient or inconsistent layout, now is designed specifically to fit your smart phone or tablet.

    4th CTCS officially activates as part of 315th Airlift Wing

    The 4th Combat Camera Squadron was officially reactivated today in the Yonkie Auditorium at Joint Base Charleston under the 315th Airlift Wing, and Maj. Hamilton Underwood assumed the helm of the specialized Reserve unit.

    4th CTCS Reservists win big in media contest

    Two Reservists with the 4th Combat Camera Squadron at Joint Base Charleston recently earned top honors in the 2016 Air Force Media Contest as well as third place honors in the Department of Defense level competition.
