81st Aerial Port Squadron among 2012 AF nominees for externally sponsored logistics awards

The 81st Aerial Port Squadron here was recently named a 2012 Air Force nominee for the National Defense Transportation Association Unit Awards category by the Air Force Logistics Annual Awards Office.

"It is my distinct pleasure to announce the 2012 Air Force nominees for the externally sponsored logistics awards," Maj. Gen. John B. Cooper, director of Logistics said in a memo. "These awards recognize individuals and organizations within the logistics community for outstanding contributions to the success of AF and DoD missions. Given the extremely rigorous competition, all individual and unit nominees should be commended for their outstanding accomplishments ... Good luck at the next level of competition."

- 721st APS, Ramstein AB (AMC)
- 81st APS, Joint Base Charleston (AFRC)

William Stephens, 315th Mission Support Group commander. "Congratulations to the men and women of the 81st APS! Job well done and good luck on your upcoming competition!"

Success breeds success, and competition for this National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Unit Award is enabled by their wins at the Air Force Reserve Command and then the Air Force level. These honors continue to recognize the excellence in rapid global mobility that we here at the 315th are accustomed to. Keep up the great work!"
