Steven Chapman 315th Airlift Wing JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The selection boards for the Airman, Noncommissioned Officer, Senior Noncommissioned Officer, Company Grade Officer, Field Grade Officer, First Sergeant and Civilian of the Year, calendar year 2011 selected the following winners: Airman of the Year - Senior Airman Michael Mothena, 317th Airlift Squadron NCO of the Year - Staff Sgt. Samuel Cooper, 701 AS SNCO of the Year - Master Sgt. Robert Grimsley, 315th Security Forces Squadron Company Grade Officer of the Year - Capt. Jeffrey Fox, 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Field Grade Officer of the Year - Lt. Col. James Huiet, 315th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, First Sergeant of the Year - Master Sgt. John Speaks, 315th Maintenance Operations Squadron Civilian of the Year - Mr. John Wittchow, 315th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron I would like to extend my congratulations to the winners who were chosen to represent the 315th Airlift Wing. These are very special honors and it gives me great pleasure to recognize their outstanding achievements. The enlisted packages and first sergeant package will be forwarded to the NAF for consideration at the next level. Mr. Wittchow's award package will be forwarded to the 628th Air Base Wing for consideration of the Team Charleston Civilian of the Year award. Plaques will be presented during the next appropriate opportunity. Units that put forth the effort to nominate their deserving personnel for awards are to be commended.
