There can be so many unknowns if you’ve never served away from home. Especially when it comes to health care. Are you wondering how the health care system works where you’re going to? Do you have questions about translation services, emergency care, or network providers? If so, International SOS Government Services, Inc. (International SOS), the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) contractor, offers the MyCare Overseas mobile app. The app helps those enrolled in TRICARE Prime OverseasTRICARE Prime Remote Overseas, or TRICARE Select Overseas navigate health care services in a new country.

“If you’re deployed overseas, you’re going to have questions about your health care,” said Michael Griffin, program analyst with the TRICARE Overseas Program Office at the Defense Health Agency. “Our hope is that the MyCare Overseas app makes it easier for you to find the health care information you’re looking for at any time.”

Where can you find the app? The MyCare Overseas app is available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play app store. Once you download the app, be sure to register an account. You must complete the registration process to start using features of the app right away. You can also access the MyCare Overseas portal from a computer. Once you register, you’ll have access to the same services as the app.

You can search network providers in your area with the Healthcare Finder tool. As outlined in the TRICARE Overseas Program Handbook, network providers are certified by TRICARE. These providers have signed a formal agreement with International SOS. They may also provide cashless and claimless medical services to those enrolled in TRICARE Prime Overseas and TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas. This means you won’t have to pay upfront to get services. You also won’t need to file your own claims.
