  • Joint Base Charleston delivers Russia bound ventilators

    A Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina C-17 Globemaster III, today, picked up 50 USAID-provided ventilators at March Air Reserve Base, Calif. and delivered them to Dover Air Force Base, Maryland. The mission is the first leg of a USAID mission to deliver 200 ventilators this month to Moscow.

    A virtual pin on ceremony was held for Col. William Roff, the newly named Readiness and Integration Organization Commander of Detachment 8, Stuttgart, Germany, May 16, 2020. Due to the unit training assembly being held virtually, all change of command and promotional pin-on ceremonies, in conjunction with unit training, had to be held online.

  • Innovation team combats COVID-19 challenges

    As members of Joint Base Charleston continue to execute Air Mobility Command’s mission during a global pandemic, an innovation team here seeks ways to minimize health risks associated with COVID-19. The innovation team, Palmetto Spark, is comprised of Airmen from across Joint Base Charleston, and their mission is to enable Airmen to solve problems they face day-to-day. Currently, the team’s focus is on the manufacturing of face shields and hand sanitizer so DOD members can accomplish their mission with a layer of protection.
