Aircrew extraction training
Master Sgt. Renee Miller explains the arresting hook, on the underside of an F-16, to Staff Sgt. Frank Martinez(left), Master Sgt. Braxton Simmons(center), and Senior Airman Trent Buzille(right), during egress training at Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, Dec. 16. The training provided the firefighters hands-on familiarization with the jet in case of an emergency requiring egress. The firefighters are part of the 506th Expeditionary Civil Engineering Squadron. Sergeant Miller is the transient alert flight chief with the 506th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron and is deployed from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. All three firefighters are deployed from Charleston AFB, S.C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Randi Flaugh)
