Reserve Ebola response steps up
A local reporter from WCBD Charleston Channel 2 news interviews Capt. Chance Harridge, 317th Airlift Squadron, on the Joint Base Charleston, S.C. flight line about his role as an aircraft commander for one of several Operation United Assistance airlift missions, flown by Charleston Reservists earlier this month to West Africa - the front lines of the fight against Ebola. Now as efforts are stepped up, President Barack Obama has authorized the Defense Department to call up a small number of National Guard or reserve troops that possess special skills needed to aid efforts in stopping the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa.
