Troop Talk special edition takes top award in Air Force media contest

Troop Talk: Extreme Airlift took top honors in the documentary category of the 2012 Air Force Media Contest after winning first place at the Air Force Reserve Command level in the same category.
"I am proud ... to congratulate the 315 AW Public Affairs team for being recognized as First Place in the 'Video Documentary' category in the 2012 Air Force Media Contest," said Col. James Fontanella, 315th Airlift Wing commander in an e-mail to the wing after the news was released by the Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs Office.

"It was truly a team effort and I want to thank everyone for doing their part! Well done," said Captain Wayne Capps, said chief of Public Affairs.

315th AW PA members working on this award winning episode were: Lt. Col. Bill Walsh, Capt. Wayne Capps, Capt. Joe Simms, Michael Dukes, and Senior Airman Bobby Pilch.
The half hour, special edition of the show covered four airlift missions to Central and South America.

"They had already won at the AFRC level, and the decision is validated as they can now claim 'Best in the Air Force,'" Colonel Fontanella added. "The Troop Talk series has been an unqualified success in terms of public exposure to the Air Force, and to the mission of the 315th. It is a testament to the hard work and professionalism of the whole team. It's truly a high quality program, and worth a look..."

The contest is designed to stimulate and reward excellence and professionalism in Air Force public affairs communicators, and to educate, motivate and inform Airmen, their families and the public.

This same episode has also been entered ino the 2012 Emmy award program which is still undway.
