The 315th Airlift Wing won first place in the 2012 Air Base Holiday Card contest here.

Senior Master Sgt. Karla Rose, 315th Force Support Squadron superintendent, helped lead the wing to victory in this year's card competition by joining forces to gather ideas for the card's theme and design.

"The card was built in my garage," said Rose. "We gathered ideas from Airmen, friends and neighborhood kids. Each of them had a lot of influence into the design and theme of this year's card. It was fun taking all of the ideas and watching them transform into such a unique holiday greeting for Joint Base Charleston."

According to Beverley McElroy, 628th FSS special events coordinator, picking a winner was tough.

"Judging for this year's card competition was very hard," said McElroy. "Everyone put together some great cards for the JB Charleston community to see."

Along with bragging rights for a year, the 315 FSS received $300 in FSS bucks to be used at any 628th FSS facility on base.
