Airmen from the 315th Aerospace Medicine Squadron here at Joint Base Charleston won several top honors for the 2011 fiscal year Air Force Reserve Command Medical Awards announced Oct. 12, 2012.

In addition to the 315 AMDS winning the Outstanding Aerospace Medicine Squadron, several individuals and teams were selected as major command winners and submitted to the USAF to compete at Air Force Level for the Air Force Medical Service Awards.

Maj. Raul P. Calimlim, a bioenvironmental engineer assigned to the 315 AMDS, was selected for the USAF Biomedical Specialist Company Grade Officer of the Year. Calimlim was instrumental in nominating Senior Airman Ebony T. Hills, a 315 AMDS bioenvironmental journeyman, winner of the Outstanding Bioenvironmental Engineering Airman of the Year.

"It was easy to put the package together for Airman Hills because of the all the great things she does and the great relationship she has developed with our active duty counterpart," said Calimlim. "She ensures we are ready and capable to deploy."

"I smiled for almost an hour," said Hills after receiving a phone call from Calimlim stating she won the award. "I was surprised to say the least."

Additional winners include the 315 AMDS Dental Clinic, winning Small Dental Clinic of the Year and Maj. Maurice N. Jackson, a 315 AMDS medical readiness officer, who earned the USAF Young Health Care Administrator of the Year.
