Winter Weather Advisory at Joint Base Charleston Feb. 24 2015
JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Due to inclement weather forecasts, Joint Base Charleston has authorized late reporting for most personnel until 10 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Individual commanders will determine which personnel need to report before 10 AM.
This announcement follows winter weather forecasts of freezing rain for the greater Charleston area.
Personnel travelling to work from off the installation should use discretion if conditions are worse than forecasted or if traffic builds up. Additionally, commanders and supervisors are encouraged to grant liberal leave for members with childcare issues.
The 628th Medical Group and Naval Health Clinic Charleston will begin receiving appointments as of 10 AM. Patients with already scheduled appointments should call 843-963-6880 for the 628 MDG, and 843-794-6000 for NHCC, to reschedule.
Classes at the Nuclear Power Training Unit will start on a normal schedule. Classes for the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command will start at 10 AM.
The status of force support services are as follows:
· Commissaries - Open at 10 a.m.
· Base Exchange/Naval Exchange - Express will open at 10 a.m.; the rest of the Exchange at 11 a.m. to include the food court
· Child Development Centers (Air Base & Weapons Station) - Normal hours
· Dining Facility and Galley - Normal hours
· Clubs (Air Base and Weapons Station) - Closed for breakfast but open for lunch
· Fitness Center - Open at 10 a.m.
· All other Non-Appropriated Funds activities (Bowling Center, Golf Course, Outdoor Rec, Skeet, library) - Open at 10 a.m.
