The Air Force Reserve welcomed its newest members Oct. 10, 2014 during a mass enlistment ceremony at the Vietnam War Memorial at the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

The members, who were given their oaths of enlistments by 315th Airlift Wing Commander Col. Scott Sauter, will all be assigned to various units in the 315th AW.

The mass enlistment consisted of seven members who joined the Air Force Reserve and who will soon be departing for Air Force Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, which will be followed by their career field technical training.

Tech. Sgt. Ronald Reyes, an Air Force Reserve line recruiter at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., said that he was excited to have the enlistment at the memorial because of what it symbolized for and to the new members.

"It was an important milestone to the start of their Air Force Reserve careers," Reyes said. "The recruiting team of Charleston decided on the Vietnam Wall replica because we wanted the recruits to truly understand what it means to be in the Air Force Reserve and being a part of the United States military."

"The people whose names are on the wall showed honor, sacrifice and courage," he said. "And that is what we are hoping these new recruits would live by when serving in the Air Force Reserve."
